On a grey Sunday morning Rise & Drive, now in its third year, had its 2016 kickoff at its new location at Collectors’ Car Garage. At this free event you see not only vintage classics, sports cars , muscle cars, exotics and microcars, but also hot rods and custom cars.
The May 1 event drew nearly 75 exotic, sport, luxury and collector cars. Exotics in the gathering included a McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder and a new Lotus Exige V6 Cup 360. Vintage rarities included a 1922 Citroën 5CV Torpedo Boat-tail Roadster and a Porsche Carrera 3.2 Rally car.
Event sponsor Mancuso Motorsports, a Chicago-based luxury and super car dealer, provides coffee at this monthly opportunity to see a variety of cars and even some trucks.
Collectors’ Car Garage is a purpose-built automotive storage facility dedicated to the care and preservation of collectible vehicles. The membership-based 58,000 sq. ft. storage facility calls itself a country club for enthusiasts and their cars and motorcycles.
Open to the public, the next Rise & Drive is Sunday, June 5 from 8am to 11am and will continue into October on the first Sunday of the month. The location is 2500 W. Bradley, Chicago, Ill., 60618.
