Twenty five years after the first Explorer hit the market the new 2016 is better than ever. Gone are the big V8s. Now it’s a turbocharged four and a couple V6s, one with twin-turbos. The AWD system has terrain management, just like that high-priced British marque. With seating for six or seven it may be the perfect urban or suburban family hauler. Oh, and it can tow up to 5000 lbs.
